BREAKFAST
Try Nitro Bar for a coffee and delicous and creative breakfast options about halfway down Thames Street. A personal favorite is also French-inspired Beacoupe Café & Home for boutique shopping and delicious pastries. For a full breakfast, visit Belle's along the docks of the Newport Shipyard.
LUNCH
It's hard to beat lunch at The Black Pearl right on Bowen's Wharf (don't forget a cup of chowder!). The Lawn at Castle Hill is also an iconic location for a blueberry lemonade and lobster roll in the Adirondack chairs overlooking the harbor (with Newport Lobster Shack being a more grab-and-go alternative). If you're headed to the Cliff Walk, enjoy a more elevated lunch at The Chanler's Remy's Loose restaurant & patio. Other favorites include The Landing, The Reef, The Mooring, and Wally's Wieners!
DINNER
There is no shortage of amazing dinner spots in Newport. A few of our favorites are: the newly opened Guisto, for tapas style bites overlooking the water, Clarke Cooke House for a classic Newport experience (check out their summer sushi menu!). Midtown Oyster Bar's quaint oyster counter or the rooftop terrace overlooking Thames Street, or White Horse Tavern for a meal at the oldest operating restaurant in the US. Enjoy a more casual meal on Perro Salado's great patio for casual Mexican food and great margaritas, or a stylish and delicious culinary experience at The Vanderbilt. And finally, Flora for Mediterranean inspired costal cuisine. Need takeout? We love Thai Cuisine on Thames and Mother Pizzeria.
BARS
Our favorite bars downtown are One Pelham East for a lively evening from darts to live music, or Surf Club for a laid-back nautical vibe. The Fastnet Pub and O'Brien's both serve a great pint of Guinness! The Roof Deck at The Vanderbilt and Top of Newport Bar + Kitchen at The Viking Hotel both have beautiful 360 views of Newport & the harbor.
We strongly encourage lunch & dinner reservations well in advance of your weekend arrival!
